Community Outreach Ministries

Investing in Our Schools. Supporting Our Community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Westwood Independent School District and serve the teachers, students, and families in our community. Through practical acts of kindness and ongoing support, we want to be a source of encouragement and care to our local schools.

Teacher Luncheon
Each year, we host a special Teacher Luncheon to welcome and encourage WISD teachers as they prepare for a new school year. We provide a meal for teachers and staff as a small way of saying, “Thank you” for the time, energy, and heart they pour into our students every day.

Backpack & School Supply Drive
As students prepare to head back to school, our church collects backpacks and school supplies to help children begin the year prepared and encouraged. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to start the school year with the supplies they need to learn and succeed.

Through these efforts, we have the opportunity to serve our community in practical ways and share the love of Christ with those around us. We are thankful for our partnership with WISD and look forward to continuing to find meaningful ways to encourage and support our local schools, teachers, students, and families.

Soccer Camp

A Week of Soccer, Fun & Faith

Each year, Westwood Baptist Church hosts a FREE Soccer Camp for kids who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. Held the first week of June, Monday through Thursday from 6:00–8:00 p.m., our camp is a fun-filled week where kids can learn new soccer skills, make friends, and hear about the love of Christ.

Each evening includes soccer drills, snacks, a devotional, and a scrimmage. Our goal is to create a fun and welcoming environment where kids can grow in their skills, build relationships, and discover what it means to follow Jesus.

Parents are encouraged and welcome to stay and enjoy the evening with us. We look forward to kicking off summer with a great week of soccer, fun, and faith!
